My great-grandfather Henry and his wife Lina are buried in the Garland cemetery. Henry was a Civil War veteran who brought Lina to the area in a covered wagon soon after the war. Before joining the Union Army at Milwaukee he had been a carpenter. He served in the 9th Wisconsin, was wounded at Newtonia Missouri and was captured and held as a war prisoner at Fort Smith. He built two houses west of Garland, both of which are still standing. He died March 8, 1899. Lina died on July 4, 1913. Although I have a lot of information about his military service and his career as a farmer/carpenter near Garland, I have not been able to locate a photo of Henry or Lina. I am hopeful that photos exist somewhere. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Wallace Petrie
